Art and Illustration
Jeff Wozniak
“Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.” ― George Bernard Shaw
Raised outside of Chicago, Jeff received formal art training from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. While working towards his degree in Illustration, Jeff had the opportunity to experience a multitude of media and developed an interest in learning new techniques. While preferring acrylic and marker, Jeff is also experienced with watercolor, relief printing, etching, graphite, charcoal, pastel, ceramic sculpture, metal work, spray paint, airbrush and digital techniques. Jeff can utilize these methods in conjunction with one another to help bring his ideas to life.
Stylistically, Jeff has been influenced primarily by anime, comic books, movie posters and various goalie mask artist with notable inspirations being Todd Nauck, Matt Bush, and Dave Gunnerson. Their work helped refine Jeff’s sense of composition and develop the whimsical atmosphere found in his classic cartoon style. Recently Jeff has begun experimenting with non-representational, abstract concepts. These rely on movement and contrast to engage the viewer instead of identifiable subjects.
